Social Work Supervisor - Family Preventative Services

Hours: Full Time - 35 hours per week, with the ability to work split shifts; including evenings, nights and weekends.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $70,000

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Program Director the Preventive Services Supervisor provides clinical and administrative supervision to a unit of social workers who are providing in-home supportive services to families involved with or at-risk of being involved with the child welfare system. Additionally, the supervisor oversees a conference facilitator and case aide in the unit. Main objectives are to ensure that staff are meeting all compliance requirements and delivering services according to the Mobility Mentoring model of practice. Supervisors are also an integral part of the program management team, providing leadership, training, and support to staff, program-wide.

Responsibilities:

• Provide supervision weekly to each social worker, conference facilitator, and case aide in the unit. This includes both clinical and administrative support to monitor and ensure the program’s compliance and best practices

• Track and support each worker’s compliance with all mandates and deadlines (set by the child welfare system), as well as all program protocols and procedures

• Facilitate unit meetings every week that provide instruction and collaboration within the unit

• Assess and support adherence to the Mobility Mentoring model via supervision and live supervision

• Review and approve all casework documentation regularly; offer recommendations in supervision and in monthly supervisory notes

• Provides coverage to social worker’s responsibilities as needed. Additionally, conducts Family Team Conferences when additional support is needed from the conference facilitator

• Collaborate and intervene with ACS, as needed, to address barriers or challenges related to assessment, service coordination/planning, or crisis intervention

• Facilitate and/or participate in family court hearings as needed

• Intervene with clients and provide supervisory support (office-based, video-conferencing, and in the field) to address engagement issues, assessment challenges, and safety concerns

• Attend supervisory trainings and meetings

• Participate in Leadership Team Meetings

Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or a related human services field.

  • Professional licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) is strongly preferred.

  • At least 1 year of supervisory and managerial experience.

  • Experience in mental health, marriage/family counseling, and group work.

  • Experience in child welfare and a demonstrated commitment to working with young adults and their families.

  • Experience conducting professional training, workshops, and event planning.

  • Understanding of family systems and adult learning principles.

  • Strong knowledge of New York City social service agencies and community resources to facilitate effective family referrals.

  • Ability to lead and inspire a clinical team while building rapport with families through clear, empathetic, and professional communication.

  • A high level of professional ethics, including the ability to maintain boundaries and employ a non-judgmental, objective approach.

  • Ability to conduct field work, including home visits within the community.

  • Flexibility to work evening hours as assigned.

  • Must be digitally literate in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, with a proven ability to adapt to new data management software (Apricot).

  • Must successfully pass all required criminal background checks.
