Program Administration Assistant - Ed Center

Reports to: Deputy Director, Education Center

Location: Education Center

Status/Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week

Salary Range: $25 per hour to $25 per hour

Program Description:

The Education Center provides adult education and workforce services to the Brooklyn community, serving 700 students annually through GED prep, ESL classes, and vocational training. Beyond the classroom, our Family Welcome Center offers case management, wrap-around services, and community workshops for our diverse, multilingual population. Our workforce development mission is furthered by our participation in the Summer Youth Employment Program, which connects 263 youth to paid internships each year.

Position Description:

The Education Center is hiring a Program Administration Assistant to support our ESL, GED, Literacy Zone, and Summer Youth Employment (SYEP) programs. The position will provide administrative assistance, data management, and enrollment support, as well as case management assistance where needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Manage data entry, filing, and office organization; respond to phone and email inquiries promptly.

  • Intake & Enrollment: Support student intake for GED, ESL, and internship programs, including the collection and verification of vital records for compliance.

  • Database Management: Maintain accurate participant records within the ASISTS and YEPS databases.

  • Outreach & Engagement: Conduct student outreach and surveys via phone and email to track progress and program impact.

  • Professional Development: Attend all required training and workshops to stay current on program regulations.

  • Flexibility & Team Support: Perform other duties as assigned to meet the evolving needs of the Education Center and its participants.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, and/or Russian is preferred.

  • Operational Skills: Exceptional time management, organization, and resourceful problem-solving abilities.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to manage complex data and maintain strict regulatory compliance.

  • Collaboration: A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to work closely with colleagues.
